ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Alien Chatter has returned with their sophomore release entitled “Invasion”. The new CD finds the duo of percussionist Satnam Ramgotra and keyboardist Rodney Lee delving deeper into their unique spin on Indo-Jazz that they now call Indo-Jazztronica. Furthermore, on this recording a few other earthlings have joined Alien Chatter on their cosmic explorations. Perhaps one of the most recorded guitarists of our time, Michael Landau, is featured on a few tracks along with Shri Aloke DasGupta on sitar, and Jimmy Mahlis on oud. Bassists Shawn Davis, Rico Belled, and Stan Sargeant provide the low end.

“It is our ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, says Rodney Lee. We poured everything we had into this recording over the past few years, and we are extremely proud of the results. Listen for the unexpected…there are a lot of twists and turns in these compositions.”

Alien Chatter is also proud to announce that they have signed with world music label Six Degrees Records as part of their Emerging Artists Series! Under this deal, Six Degrees will handle the digital distribution of “Invasion” via two 5-song EPs. Please follow the link on the bottom-left if you want to purchase a digital down- load of “Invasion”.

An Album To Be Proud Of
This is a real progression from 'Music for Aliens' with lots of new influences. What I have found with this band is that their music bears repeated listening - it has real depth and continuing interest.

The base for this music is the piano-trio (in this case a duo), then spiced up with eastern flavours (tablas, oud etc) and a psychedelic funk-groove - one of a kind.

Invasion
Great album, east meets west as in this indo jazz fusion. Funky, melodic, meditative, creative - it gets your groove on and opens your crown chakra all at once. Great performances and production will make this a staple of your listening library for years to come.

Looking forward to the next session!

Invasion
As a professional dancer, choreographer & producer of concert dance in Los angeles , I'm always interested in new sounds that will inspire and "move" me. I heard your interview recently on KCRW and really loved what I heard you mentioned CD Baby and I went home & ordered this CD. It is truly awesome and I love it. Since then i have been recommending it to all the dancers I know. Keep making your unique music.
