ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Gol Aeen is one of the most significant repertoires for the Santour lovers. It was composed by Parviz Meshkatian who made a new genre for Santour performance in current century in Iran. Iranian Classical music is based on improvisation; musicians always create new emotional environment in every single performance they have. Meshkatian had performed this collection several times on stages with different techniques, rhythms, tempos and atmospheres. Alireza Javaheri has made transcripts of his collections, and he is the first person who wrote Meshkatian’s methods and songs for Santour. In this album, he attempts to perform a combination of all those performances as close as the primary materials to provide audio versions of those written songs. He hopes to connect the young generations and Santour learners to Meshkatian’s music style with recreation of the originals.
