ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the songwriter album.

By name and by nature. Freeway connotations of travel, journeys, and speed are in there, but it is as much about the dual nature of feeling free; and the partitions of a free spirit. The material is kindred to the original demo recordings - a dynamic mix. The lyrical contexts are somewhat ambiguous…you can relate your own story.

The CD front-cover (by producer Paul) with beachside boardwalk captures this Freeway theme perfectly. The included Songbook (by Alison) follows on with sea-side imagery such as to signify stirred memories and imaginings.

The music is a mixture of upbeat, mid- and slow-tempos. Acoustic and electric guitars, bass and keyboards work with electronic beats and sounds. Each track has its own texture. Some alternative time-signatures add a folk-feel.

Arrangements have a panoramic quality at times; akin to echoes of ‘film score’.

The vocal is forefront and complemented with plenty of single and harmonic backing-voices. One song features a canny duet with the producer.

Genres: indie-pop, electro acoustic pop, Americana, orchestral folk-rock, storytelling, ballad, experimental, art-rock, dream pop, atmospheric, electronica, R & B, House, folktronica.
