Album Notes
VOCALS California-born, Nashville-raised vocalist Alissa Klein exudes one-of-a-kind warmth, and echoes shades of Eva Cassidy and Sarah McLachlan. Alissa is imaginative, curious and iconoclastic. She has a full life of music making, gigging and also sharing her music in house concerts where her story-based music is a catalyst for audience-based participation. Her debut album Cardiology points towards Alissas’s quirky, artful, evocative and wise perspective. Music is a language and when Alissa isn’t visiting libraries or creating music, she teaches English as a second language around the globe.

WRITERS/PRODUCER “The Lord Has Thought For Me” emerged from a 12-song challenge out of the UK initiated by Resound Worship that Recon Records founder Andrea Hunter accepted (with many others). Although she only finished one of the 12, the seeds of that song led in an unexpected creative direction and Andrea invited Alissa, who attends the same church, into the process. Known for producing the critically acclaimed prayer album "Intercessor" she has collaborated on songs with Marty Goetz, Robbie Seay, Jeremy Riddle, Josh Lavender, among many others, and spearheads and participates in songwriting retreats around the US.

VISION We love combining words and music with friends across generations and tribes to create worship that is biblical, transformational, and true.

PLAYERS AND PRODUCTION We believe that music is the perfect metaphor for the body of Christ, and that each human contributor is essential. And less visible or heard members of the creative body are as vital and valued as the featured artists. The sonic landscape of “The Lord Has Thought For Me” includes Bob Soma on guitars, who has graced a slew of “Jesus” music; former Anaheim Vineyard pastor and founding member of seminal Brit Jazz/rock fusion band Isotope Nigel Morris delivers tasty percussion and hand-held drums; serving as sideman here, the amazing Kirk Whalum offers his evocative and one-of-a-kind tenor saxophone stylings; John Andrew Schreiner engineered mixed and mastered the “The Lord Has Thought For Me” and is best known as composer/creator of “The Odes Project,” and for his television and film work, as well as production work with Christian artist Fernando Ortega. We call this revolving "band" of players that support music at Recon WeBody1.
