ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
From the Mouths of Shepherds explores the effects of spiritual abuse and recovery, the deconstruction and reconstruction of faith. “Careful Distance” warns us of the snake loose in the garden and “Day of Our Reunion” pines for a day when the distractions of lust, greed, and jealousies are thrown in the fire. “Wolf and Sheep” is a humbling reminder of our humanity, each of us capable of doing harm to one another despite our best intentions. It’s a reminder of the old saying, “there, but by the grace of God, go I…” when the chorus prayerfully evaluates the narrator’s own shortcomings with, “Lord, keep my feet from where my heart often ventures…”

Tracks like “Hungry Coyote” and “Found Me Out” are a musical throw back to the glory days of the 90’s Tooth & Nail Records scene – guitar driven with plenty of hooks and riffs that will stay in your head, hopefully making good company for the thoughtful (though often provocative) narrative lyrics.

One of my favorites this year
I've been following this project closely since its inception, hearing early demos and mixes. I also know firsthand about many of the subjects and events written about. This record is truly a labor of love, and an outlet to process situations that nobody should have to endure. The instrumentation is rich and varied from song to song, but appropriate in all instances to convey the emotions therein. Big electric guitars are at the forefront, but complimented perfectly with banjo, strings, organ and vocal harmonies. This record took nearly a year to make and it shows. Pick this up if you enjoy heartfelt, thought provoking alternative rock.

Love this so much, such a variation in the vocals and what a great job this young man did with the instrumental's. It has became one of my favorite new CD's in quite some time quite some time, a little something for about everyone. I feel the passion that was put into this, so much we all can relate to at onetime or another!

From the Mouths of Shepherds
Very good songwriting and storytelling throughout the entire album. Although some of the Christian references may be lost to some, Brandon Miles and crew goes deep enough to invite anyone with similar experiences to sing along.

So Good
Brandon Miles has the voice of an angel! I would seriously listen to him sing the phone book. Luckily, though, he's actually singing great songs on this. That will win over those who might get bored just hearing people's phone numbers. This finely record is beautiful, spiritual, and laced with a little something I like to call love. Buy it and I will come over and listen to it with you. Do you have chips?

soulful songwriting
You can tell Brandon poured his soul into writing this, and the instruments tell the story well. If ever get to hear him live and in person, don't pass on the chance!

Honest
A honest description of the artist 's feelings expressed through a guitar and harmody. If a poet's pen was switched for a guitar; this is what you get.

From the Mouths of Shepards by All Around the Dinner Table
This album contains lots of heartfelt passion. It's hard to listen to this one and not feel it. Wolf and Sheep & Hungry Coyote are my personal favorites on this piece. But the whole album speaks volumes with solid songwriting. Great live act, as well!
