Album Notes
This concert recording of the Allegheny College Wind Symphony under the direction of Lowell E. Hepler, a professor of music and chair of the Department of Music featured trumpet soloists Will Hawkins, Jacob Patterson and Kevin Simpson on Leroy Anderson's "Bugler's Holiday". The concert also included the premiere performance of “Crimson, Blue and White,” a march written by Ronald Stitt, assistant director of bands at Allegheny College. Works by two additional western Pennsylvania composers are included: Jack Stamp’s “Junket” and Samuel Hazo’s “Arabesque.”

The wind symphony also performed “Fanfare: A Vision and a Dream” by Ryan Nowlin, Bach's “Fantasia in G Major", "An American Elegy" by Frank Ticheli, “Second Suite in F for Military Band” by Gustav Holst, Percy Grainger's "Molly on the Shore" and "Crosley March" by Henry Fillmore.

This recording is another in a series produced for Allegheny College by Chaffee Sound Productions and a first to be offered exclusively by download.
