Album Notes
This CD contains classic positive hit's written or recorded by Country Music Icon - Lefty Frizzell
who's songs have been recorded over and over again by artist from Merle Haggard to Jewel. Lefty's youngest brother Allen Frizzell recorded and released this CD as a tribute to him at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville TN , in honor of what would have been his 80th birthday March 31st , 2008.
Allen also included brother David on this cd asking him to sing a duet with him on I never go around mirror's , the last time Allen recorded this song was with Country Music great Keith Whitley on his Don't close your eyes album.

Since the early 1950s the Frizzells have been prominent on the music charts as artists and songwriters. Lefty was known as a prolific artist & songwriter , with inductions into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Songwriter's Hall of Fame as well as a 10 ft bronze statue in his honor from the state of Texas. His brother, Grammy Nominated, ACM & CMA award-winner as well as two-time song of the year honors is David Frizzell.

Like Lefty and David, Allen is more than a great vocalist , he truly captures the emotion of a song. He is also a talented musician and a outstanding songwriter earning BMIs prestigious million-air performance award. BMIs official recognition of achievement in American Music.

Allen is known as ~ "the other brother" that travels down the gospel road with his top # 20 hit- I'm gonna live for Jesus & The blood off his ~ "I'm Just A Nobody" gospel cd - more info on his myspace- The Lefty tribute album was done to support Allen Frizzell Ministries

A Little Bit of Lefty
It's only fair that a Frizzell should produce the best Lefty tribute album covering Lefty's great stuff. Many country artists have been influenced by that great Lefty voice and style, and many of them have done Lefty covers and tributes, often self-penned. No one, though, can top Allen's covers. He is simply incredible on these songs. I wish Allen would do a Vol. 2 with Lefty's non-hits that should have been: Two Friends of Mine In Love, Hopeless Love, You Can Go On Your Way Now, That's All That I Can Remember, I Know You're Lonesome, etc.. If you like traditional country, gobble this one up!!
