Album Notes
Al Lerner is a composer, arranger and consummate musician. His repertoire of songs--classical, jazz and show tunes have delighted audiences for over five decades. His performances have spanned the globe, accompanying some of the greatest artists of the "big band" era and the musical world. Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, Dick Haymes, Glenn Miller, Frankie Laine, Rosemary Clooney, Pat Boone, Kay Starr, Vic Damone, Frank Sinatra, are just a few who have benefitted from his talent as a world-class pianist and conductor. Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, his playing was so extraordinary, that he was nicknamed the "Cleveland Flash" by the time he was seventeen. When he sat in with the Harry James Band, Harry offered his the job of pianist of the band on the spot. Time has not slowed this maestro down, he is still doing piano for the Hal Leonard Corporation. Al's life was filled with so much fun and excitement so he sat down and wrote a book about his life the buiness titled "Vamp "Til Ready" which is on Amazon.com
