Album Notes
Alan and the Alligators “Reptile Rock” is a catchy collection of electric rock, funk, pop and blues (with some acoustic songs) all featuring excellent songwriting and musicianship. Rather than wait to be categorized, the album is titled to let the unfamiliar know that what the Alligators play is called “Reptile Rock.” (I.E.M. Records # 01259-1. Copyright & Published by: Instant Earthling Music, BMI.)

The CD “Reptile Rock” has been added at over 75 Radio Stations across the US and Canada. It has received significant critical acclaim and attained two Top Ten Chart positions in Connecticut and Delaware as reported by CMJ. The Alligators hope you like the CD “Reptile Rock,” listen to it loudly and often, and purchase copies frequently, as they make splendid gifts!

Artist Biography: It was gathered around a kitchen table, after a lengthy jam session in 1989, that a group of friends from the Boston, Massachusetts area, decided to name their new band “Alan and the Alligators” (not surprisingly, Alan was at that table). A year later, Jon joined the group, and shortly after that, Erik. At times the Alligators have been a six-piece band, but since about 1995 they have been a trio comprised of Alan, Erik and Jon (with an occasional “Guest Gator”). Now, over a decade after that fateful kitchen table gathering, you have an opportunity to own the very first Alligators album on CD.

Alan & The Alligators:
“Alan and The Alligators,” is an original rock band that also plays funk, R&B, blues, pop, jazz and miscellaneous other goofy stuff. “The Acoustic Alligators” is the “unplugged” acoustic duo presentation of the group.

Alan Goodrich (Drums and Lead vocals):
Originally from Sudbury, Massachusetts. Graduate of Boston University. Began playing drums in the second grade and clarinet in the fifth grade. Alan studied drums privately for five years with jazz great Alan Dawson of the “Dave Brubeck Quartet.” He also released a record of original rock songs with “The Goodrich Bros. Band” that has received favorable reviews and airplay on commercial and college radio. Alan studied voice with Mark Baxter. (Author of “The Rock & Roll Singers Survival Manual” and voice teacher to Steve Tyler, Peter Wolf, Gary Cherone and others.) Alan also plays guitar in the “Acoustic Alligators,” the “unplugged” duo version of the “Alligators” band. Alan can also be seen performing a solo act on acoustic guitar and voice.

Erik Ringstad (Electric guitars and vocals):
Originally from New York City. Graduate of Berklee College of Music. Erik began studying classical piano in 1967 at the age of four and guitar in 1978. With his instrumental guitar duo “Acousticity,” he won the “Best Unsigned Artist Competition” in 1992 from “Musician's” Magazine, and appeared on their nationally released compilation CD. Erik has performed his acoustic guitar compositions throughout the Midwest, as well as live on WPBS nationwide radio. Erik also plays guitar in the “Acoustic Alligators” and can be seen as a solo performer presenting his original compositions on acoustic guitar.

Jon Steinberger (Bass guitar and backing vocals):
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jon also hails from Berklee College of Music and he studied bass privately with jazz and rock great Jeff Berlin of “Bruford” and “Yes” fame. Jon is a former member of “The Lines,” with whom he recorded four albums and performed live opening for such national acts as “Aerosmith,” “The Tubes” and “Cheap Trick.”
