Album Notes
In the 2003 National League Playoffs, I watched the games with caution. Having been burned in '69, '84, '89, and '98,
I was not going to howl with the excitement of a life-long Cubs fan until they proved to me they could win. Then after feeling the energetic rush of Kerry Wood's inspired demolition of the Atlanta Braves in the 5th and deciding game of that series, I could no longer hold back my "inner Cub." The resulting emotional exaltation spilled out of me like a thirst-quenching cold draft overflowing the rim of my beerstein. I simply did what songwriters do, and this ray of hope is what came out of me. So to all of my long-suffering brothers and sisters of the "Cubs Nation," this song is for you. Ah one, ah two...
