Album Notes
Almost Famous is a bluegrass band from the Ohio Valley region with performances throughout Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kentucky. Almost Famous consists of bassist Harold Dailey (founder of the world-famous Pennyroyal Opera House), mandolinist Micah Fuchs (public educator and mandolin extraordinaire), guitarist Joshua Hetrick (preacher, roofer, and guitar extraordinaire), and Steven Moore (two-time National Bluegrass Banjo Champion, Rockygrass Banjo Champion, Renofest (South Carolina State) Banjo Champion, Merlefest Banjo Champion, Maryland State Banjo Champion, North Carolina State Banjo Champion, and Freshgrass Banjo Champion).

Founded in 2004 by original members Steven Moore and Ryan Abercrombie, Almost Famous has changed members throughout the years, but the music has continued to grow and mature over time. Almost Famous has been influenced by a number of great bluegrass artists, including Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, Jimmy Martin, Norman Blake, Clarence White, Doc Watson, J.D. Crowe & The New South, Tony Rice, The Hutchison Brothers, Tim O'Brien, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Mark O'Connor, Stuart Duncan, The Bluegrass Cardinals, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Cadillac Sky, Noam Pikelny, Jens Kruger, Alison Brown, Scott Vestal, Ernie Thacker, and many, many others.
