It Ain't Over Till You're Over

by Alson Ebanks

The power of this album is in its lyrics--words that make you think while speaking to the heart as well. The songs vary in style ranging from traditional folk to blues and C&W. Several songs cross into just pure C&W, though listed as religious.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Comments from a listener: "I love all your songs, especially 1,2 & 6; I felt they were meant for my parents..." "I have a stressful job and your songs give me the strength I need."
The title cut on the album was inspired by several things, especially (as the second verse states) that "one by one my friends are going before the fullness of their years, and all they're leaving me are memories, and if I'm honest, doubts and fears...." The album also contains the song I wrote and recorded 25years ago for my Dad: "They Don't Have Many Songs About Fathers"--a song that has been a favorite on local request programs. These are not all feel good songs--they touch your heart and your head, and I expect that everyone may have different favorites. I'm already pleasantly surprised by which songs people have said have "moved" them. If you like music that you can't easily put into a fixed genre, and that makes you think--and maybe shed a tear, I think you will find these songs worth listening to. For this privilege to share my heart with you, I thank you and give God the glory. (Alson)
