ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Ama Deus Ensemble orchestra and chorus present a fabulous evening of music, recorded live in Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Valentin Radu, Artistic Director and Conductor, leads the professional forces with a clear hand and plays the piano concerto no. 21 as well. Mozart's larger "Solemn Vespers for the Feast of a Confessor" is a favorite with most choral artists and church musicians, but less often performed with full orchestra. It features soloist Megan Monaghan in its most famous movement: "Laudate Dominum." The Coronation Mass (1779) is one of the most popular Missa Brevis settings by Mozart and features fanfares, pageantry and the use use of two trumpets. Soloists: Megan Monaghan, soprano; Jody Kidwell, alto; Timothy Bentch, tenor; Milo Morris, bass.
