Album Notes
The Jimmy Amadie Trio features: Jimmy Amadie Piano Steve Gilmore Bass, Bill Goodwin Drums, Phil Woods Alto Sax . This CD stands as a magnificent example of small group jazz. One of the best rhythmn sections in the world, and Phil Woods is one of the greatest alto players ever. Jimmy Amadie has been compared to Wynton Kelly, Hank Jones , Tommy Flanagan and even Bud Powell. The CD consists of four tunes with the Trio and four tunes with the Quartet, and is the mainstreim Bop. The group swings from beginning to end, and
considered to be one of the best CD's of 2003.
