Album Notes
Amae is a child of fire. Her music invigorates pop with a touch of soul, jazz, and blues, taking it back to its roots with a sound as refreshing as her message.
Having performed professionally since the age of 11, Amae has performed everywhere from Disneyland to Padres games, sang radio jingles and opened up for the Drifters, all before graduating high school.

She moved to Los Angeles in 2001, where her professional career truly took off. Amae grew immensely as an artist, co-writing and performing over 40 original tunes with electronica/funk trio Animastik, regular players at venues such s Viper room, Knitting Factory and the Key Club.

Still, in 2004 she made the decision to explore a solo career as a vocalist, songwriter and performing artist.
Since then, she has earned a place in many people's hearts, playing at seminars and events such as Robert Allen's Enlightened Wealth retreat and Usana Health Sciences conference, all the way to festivals such as Harmony, Emerge-n-See, Shambhala and Burning Man. She has also shared a stage with Erykah Badu, serenading her for her birthday at the House of Blues.

Amae's music video for "Concrete Flowers" won "Best Music Video" in Elevate film festival 2006. This LA-based festival dedicated to raising consciousness is facilitated by well known latin music-video and film director Mikki Willis.
All the videos were shot and edited in a mere 48 hours. The award winning result can be viewed at www.myspace.com/amaemusic.

Amae is ecstatic to announce the release of her 16-track debut album, "Ripe." Soulful and eclectic, "Ripe" reveals an artist as willing to teach and learn as she is to experiment with musical styles as variant as her own vocal range. Lyrics, blogs, mailing list and more can be found on her site, www.amaezing.com

Her current dream team includes Producer Stefan Broadley, who has worked with Incubus, Korn, Kid (from Kid'n'Play) and members of the Black Eyed Peas, and virtuoso bassist/guitarist/musical director Melvin "spoon" Brannan, who toured with the Rolling Stones and the Toledo Show.

Their Influences include India Arie, Zero 7, Prince, Erykah Badu, Ella Fitzgerald, Ben Harper, Bjork, Beck, Me'shell N'degeocello, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, and above all, Stevie Wonder.

Currently Amae is organizing and preparing for a nationwide tour with her band, and has recently performed at level 3 and the Derby. Meanwhile, she seeks co-conspirators to help take her music to the level it truly deserves, both in the USA and abroad.

On a personal note, she's been working on a comedy tv pilot she's co-created and co-produced, which features her original song, "Sexy Bitches." So far the zany Raw cooking show has received tens of thousand of hits on you tube and myspace. Check it out on www.youtube/user/sexybitcheslikeitraw.

You could label Amae a "funky white girl with soul," but that misses the full impact of her music: the lyrics are inspired, thoughtful, provocative asnd sexy; the message is both familiar and fresh; her sultry voice is smooth as silk and hot like fire. Whether live or streaming through your stereo, Amae takes you back to a time when music had a messgae; when performers were expected to do more than look good and put out remasterable tunes.
Amae's music blends the finest elements of classic soul music with innovative modern production. With a heart as big as her voice, this rising star is reasdy to shine her light on the future of music.
