Album Notes
This album was first released in 2003 and was sold in music stores across Australia and the South Pacific. The tracks were developed by Dr Ferguson over decades of teaching meditation and conducting healing processes with wide-ranging groups of people and individuals. The music of international composer Ken Davis has been selected to enhance each spoken meditation (as detailed further below). Do not listen to this album or individual tracks while driving.

Meditation and relaxation have been found to enhance physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Meditation helps the way people feel and think. It has been found to assist people suffering from a wide range of problems including stress management, low self-esteem, poor concentration and performance in all areas of life. Meditation promotes inner peace and contentment, healing, self-connection and a sense of spiritual/existential connection. It can deepen our capacity to love and be loved.

While scientific research has long shown the benefits of meditation to body and mind, now neuroscientists have studied the brain activity of meditators finding that meditation can have lasting effects on the structure and function of the brain due to its neuroplasticity. These changes in the neural pathways in the brain help people to become more resilient and deal with life challenges and painful and stressful situations better, lowering cortisol and adrenalin. Dr Amanda Ferguson (Psychologist) is a Registered Psychologist, Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, Registered Organisational Psychologist and author based in Sydney, Australia (see web site lifethatworks.com). She has taught meditation since 1992 to individuals and groups in private, corporate and public contexts, including at the Mind, Body, Spirit Festival around Australia. Amanda has been in private practice since 1992 helping people with issues such as mood, behaviour and personality disorders, addictions, existential crisis, relationships, recovery from childhood and trauma, change, grief, work performance and career. Amanda is a classically trained opera singer who turned her back on a promising international singing career to study and practice sound healing, hypnotherapy and psychology.

Amanda appears regularly in print, radio, TV and other media and is available for comment on most topics related to psychology, organisational psychology, hypnotherapy and meditation. Amanda is a public speaker listed with Saxton’s Speakers' Bureau, Australia (since 1998). She is a member of the College of Organisational Psychologists and has conducted extensive work in national and international organisations since 1992, including IBM, AMP, Macquarie Bank and Telstra (see web site lifethatworks.com for details). Amanda conducts out placement performance management for corporations and medical employees working in major public hospitals in Sydney. Amanda has presented papers at various academic conferences on topics such as hypnosis, romantic relationships, how work engagement operates and differs between medical and business groups (see the website for more information).
