ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Life is a continuous learning experience full of excitement and inspiration, for Lethbridge, Alberta singer-songwriter, Amanda Michelle. Her honest and emotional lyrics paint pictures and tell stories that portray beautiful moments, hurtful memories, and bittersweet experiences. Amanda’s pure vocals render a certain beauty of tone, which fits with her direct and heartfelt melodies. Her original folk-pop songwriting is laced with elements from electronic music and has drawn comparisons to artists like Owl City and Taylor Swift. Her debut EP featuring six original songs was produced in Calgary by The Station Recording Co. (Mackenzie Porter, Joanna Borromeo) and is set to released in the fall of 2014, with a full tour and marketing campaign to follow.

Growing up in a very musical environment, Amanda spent her young life exploring all aspects of music: indulging in the classical arts, piano, jazz and band ensembles. Pursuing her love for singing, Amanda enrolled in a Bachelor of Music program at the University of Lethbridge, where she acquired a love for being on stage. During the summer of 2010, Amanda branched out from her classical training and spent a weekend recording her first original acoustic pop songs. The same drive that motivated Amanda to teach herself how to play guitar just a year earlier, now coupled with her first taste of writing and recording her own music, led Amanda to make writing music her full time passion.

A few years later, having had life experiences such as becoming a wife and mother and opening for Juno nominated artist Peter Katz, Amanda has put together a collection of songs that truly capture both her love of life and song.
