ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Latest review on itunes “Brilliant CD....great, original songs...can listen to them all day long !!!” Five Stars

Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Amanda Thomas is a breath of fresh musical talent and an artist not afraid of baring her soul for the sake of credible story telling.

Amanda teamed up with producer and musician David Longo to record her much anticipated debut album Midnight Sun. It is full of classic pop songs, with influences ranging from southern-folk to soulful-rock, taking the listener on a melodic journey of emotional honesty.

“To me, the term ‘Midnight Sun’ represents the rare or impossible, by giving my album this title might tell you just how pleased I am to have made it.”

Midnight Sun is a guitar driven album, with catchy vocal hooks and songs that stay with you. Lyrically, the album delves into Amanda's personal struggles with a career in music as well as a bit of love. Some songs are full of irony, yet the sweetness of her voice belies this fact, others are more poignant and direct.

The album references some of Amanda’s eclectic taste in music, including Sheryl Crow, Aimee Mann, Crowded House, Powderfinger, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, and Shawn Colvin.

In the last year or so Amanda has performed at many established venues including Lizottes in Dee Why, The Bridge Hotel in Rozelle, The Monkey Bar in Balmain, The Royal Cricketers Arms as a guest of Tamara Stewart, The Golden Sheaf in Double Bay as a guest of James Valentine, The Clovelly Hotel, Tokio Hotel in Darling Harbour, The Opera Bar at Sydney’s Opera House, The Granny Smith Festival in Eastwood and Moocooboola Festival in Hunters Hill.

So if you’ve also been waiting for your Midnight Sun, you don’t have to be in the dark any longer, download your copy now from iTunes or buy a copy from her website and bask in the warm voice and inspiring lyrics of this great Aussie talent.
