Album Notes
There is an alchemical process that happens when we come together. As attributed to Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Together, we are so much greater than the sum of our parts. We are wired to be communal, in partnership with one another and with Mother Nature. When we fulfill our role in this sacred partnership, we can do great things.

Amber Norgaard created "A New Beginning" for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona’s (HSSA's) New Beginnings Canine program – a program where Department of Corrections (DOC) crew members train dogs that require special behavioral attention to help make them more adoptable. Not only do the four-legged ones receive the care and attention they need to help with socialization, but fellow DOC community members become more deeply rooted in purpose and humanity by taking part in this meaningful partnership.

The song features production and engineering by Steven Lee Tracy, Amber on keys and vocals, signature electric guitar riffs by Doug Floyd, Jay Trapp (bass) and Ralph Gilmore (drums) holding down a strong rhythm section, and mastering by Adam Boose (Cauliflower Audio Mastering).

Thank you to the generous donors who made this program and song possible, and thank you to HSSA for their amazing work making our world a better, more compassionate place.
