The American Youth Harp Ensemble (AYHE) is recognized as one of the finest and most innovative harp programs in the nation. Called a “national cultural treasure” by the U.S. Department of State’s Cultural Arts Director, the AYHE has changed the perception of the capabilities of a harp ensemble by heightening awareness of the unlimited artistic potential. Founded by Artistic Director, Lynnelle Ediger-Kordzaia in 1999, the AYHE has provided unparalleled music education to over 1,000 young harpists through year-round ensemble and outreach programs and reaches over 300,000 annually through hundreds of performances, recordings and broadcasts worldwide. Audiences around the world have enjoyed their musical artistry and imaginative programming. Performance highlights include: 21 international tours, the World Harp Congress (Sydney, Australia), Edinburgh Easter Festival (Edinburgh, Scotland), Salla Puccini (Milan, Italy), Salle Gaveau (Paris, France), St. John’s Smith Square (London, England), Mendelssohn Hall (Vienna, Austria), United Nations (NY), Kennedy Center (D.C.), American Harp Society National Conferences, the U.S. Department of State, Carnegie Hall, White House and Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center.
