Album Notes
"Farzad is a classically-trained artist whose Persian violin and jazzy folkloric compositions have carved a new category of art into the world of music. His eclectic tapestry of melodies showcase his Persian roots, with deep, mystical rhythms and traditional flare, while also weaving together western classical and South American styles in original compositions."
-Spencer Theater

Amity Records is proud to announce the debut of Farzad's "Mirror of Emotions" at #1 in the NAV airplay charts for the month of October.

Amity Records is proud to announce the latest from Persian-born violinist and composer Farzad. With the help of veteran guitarist/producer Louie Shelton, Farzad in his album Mirror of Emotions has melded East with West. From the Persian folkloric music arranged with modern bass lines and penetrating orchestration to Farzad's original compositions of classical, new age, smooth jazz, and Latin music, this collection of tracks showcases the virtuosity of a brilliant violinist.

An artist who, in his latest tour with Grammy® award winning producer KC Porter, was reviewed by the Albuquerque Tribune as a "Persian Classical Phenomenon". Concert critic and music staff writer Dustin Habermann wrote of one concert, "Farzad's sense of phrase was exquisitely in line with the Romantic aesthetic - it grew to a breathtaking forte at the top of his range and descended into eloquent murmurs toward the end of his phrases." Although he has enchanted audiences throughout the world for years, it is now with this soul-stirring new album that Farzad is penetrating the American music market.

Farzad received his diploma in classical music from the Tehran Conservatory, his Bachelor's degree in performance from Indiana University in Bloomington, and a Master's degree in performance and composition from the University of North Texas. He has performed with numerous orchestras including the Dallas Opera, the Fort Worth Symphony and the Houston Ballet, Pop and Opera Orchestras in addition to being the Concertmaster of both the National Symphony of Ecuador and the Orchestra of the second Baha'i World Congress in New York.

mesmerizing and serene
I have listened to “My Heart” and the "Mirror of my Emotions” albums untiringly. I recommend both of these masterpieces to any avid listener of classical Persian folklore-western pop synergy. When I listen to “My Heart,” mesmerizing and serene comes to my mind. babak

many nuances.
A great collection of individual songs with a range of styles. I hear modern jazz, Spanish themes, and everywhere a hint of Gypsey violin! This album has as much variety as I have heard from this artist. I only wish the songs were longer!

I am impressed with the range of emotion in this recording. I used it as background music for a presentation on the Declaration of the Báb. One Persian Baha'i told me afterward that his heart almost burst when he heard the first piece. That's a success! Thank you for this exquisite music.
