Album Notes
My name is Amritha. I was born in Chennai, India; I grew up in Australia, and I studied in the United States.

I’m a singer-songwriter - but also work as a remote project manager to fund my music and creative passions.

I grew up learning and listening to South Indian classical music - or Carnatic music, from the age of like 3 or 4. Then I discovered soul and jazz, and I realised that I was a mix of it all. So now I fuse the East with the West, to bring you my soul on a plate.

I do believe that the Arts and activism go hand-in-hand. I do believe that self-love and spirituality can build a better world. I believe in womxn and the power of womxn, and in building a world that is free of gender discrimination. Basically I’m an idealist, and I’m proud of being one.

And I believe in the power of music to change the world.

These things are fundamental to who I am, and so you’ll hear them in my music and all the content I create as well.

My songs are a mix of Western and Indian influences - from Norah Jones, Solange Knowles, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, and Howlin Wolf - to AR Rahman, S.P.B, MS Subbulakshmi, Shreya Ghoshal and other Indian artists and influences.

I sing about love, spirituality, mental health, gender and gender rights and the concept that we are all one big human family - because hey, these are the things that matter to me. x
