One More Day

by Amy Francis

Native to South Texas, Amy has spent 25 years performing, songwriting and recording. Her versatile vocal styles include classic country, jazz, blues, rock, latin and folk. Bringing old music back and making the songs her own is her specialty. Amy attended music school at the University of Texas at San Antonio where she studied voice and piano. She performed all over the US in variety show bands, “legends" shows and cover bands for over two decades. Subsequently, Amy worked in the theater arena where she spent over two years performing five shows a week in a Classic country music show in Texas. Amy’s new single “One More Day” is a song Amy wrote about NYC on September 11, 2001. A very emotional take on watching the tragedy from afar.

Album Notes
I wrote "One More Day" on September 11, 2001. The day the two towers fell in NYC, I was overcome by emotions as was the entire nation. I felt such wrenching empathy for the victims and the survivors. I was moved to express what it felt experiencing this tragedy via television. Helpless, hopeless and hard to explain but I managed to write this song all at once. I am so grateful that now, 16 years later, I am able to record and release this song. It means so much to me and I feel that in a small way it honors the memory of the americans that were lost and honors the survivors. I hope that this song can spread love, understanding, peace and harmony to all.

(More than) one more day
Balladacious was probably the best album I ever owned and played on radio. I have always thought Amy Francis is one of the undiscovered gems of the singing world. Her interpretations of other country hits in Balladacious are nothing short of brilliant. This single she wrote herself shows what a talent the lady is. I look forward to another album from this Texan lady.
