Album Notes
"A nimble balance between vintage soul-funk, acid-jazz, and urban electronica. It's all at once jazzy, groovy, rhythmic, and very danceable" - Hannah Smalltree, Portsmouth Herald

"A heady, danceable mix that's imaginatively composed, and well thought out, with a variety of provocative colors and texture" - Alan Chase, The Wire

Analog Method, is clearly influenced by jazz / funk greats such as Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and John Scofield. However, the band is equally committed to bringing the current electronica craze out of the DJ booth and onto the live stage, experimenting with jungle and drum n' bass grooves, while expanding the dialogue of past jazz / funk masters. They combine these styles with a deft sense of melody, and a knack for creating catchy hooks which linger in the heads of listeners long after they lay down their dancing shoes. The result is music which can be enjoyed by an unusually diverse crowd.

Currently the band has been experiencing rapid stylistic growth. While Night Rider represents a more smooth and mellow side of the band, Analog Method now performs mostly in a trio setting with emphasis on more aggresive electronica and progressive groove styles. You can hear clips of their more recent sound at

Analog Method is:
Chris Beam - bass
Sean Berry - sax
Dan Shure - keys
Mike Walsh - drums
Jason Yost - guitar

smoooof, baby!
This is fine fine smooth music! Why should you believe me? Here is why: Last night I had a date! And you know what made me so cool with my beautiful & intelligent date: this ANALOG METHOD CD. I had it rocking my CD player, and she (and WE) loved it! This disk is the soundtrack to my LOOOOOOOVE, baby! Can't get cooler than that!..

tube doode

tasty smoothity cool color aroma from the jazzmosphere.

this cd is awesome, they rock live. go see them, The keyboardist is ill, he kills the synth.

Bill from Burriville

good stuff but at times lacks depth & leaves me wanting more
Overall impressed with the music and the band. This may be more about my musical taste than anything negative about this CD, but it was somewhat too much on the jazzy and groovy side and not enough on the jazz and groove side (if my drift is gotten). At times I wanted things more complex and less polished, and for certain refrains to go somewhere else . Overall some nice creativity and an appealing sound. Do find myself playing certain tunes from the CD in my head, so I am obviously drawn to it...

Will on Bass

Nice, smooth, rythmic, tight, groovin!
I was surprised at how much I like these guys. Especially at $5 from CD Baby, BUY IT!!

Jim Borzatti

Nice approach and a fresh groovin' sound
It's hard not to like the way they have blended the electronics into their music. Tastefully done for sure! The only other band I've heard do this is 480 East, but Analog has their own style. Nothing is weird or off key here, just smooth groovin with some innovative mixing of electronic treats, well worth adding to your collection!

Something different and fresh
That was a very good surprise indeed ! Analog Method sort of mixes two worlds : the bebop of the 60's/fusion of the 70's and a very modern dance / electronic feel. The result is an enjoyable mix giving lots of room for improvisation. Something sax player Sean Berry takes full advantages of (sometimes in a somewhat repetitive way though). This is a worthy addition to any open minded jazz fan.
