ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
As one enthusiastic fan once said, "If I bring a date to your show, your music will make her fall in love." In answer to this Anandi responded, "Then you better be careful who you bring!" With a name that means bliss in Sanskrit, one could easily infer that Anandi's music has the ability to conjure up images and sounds pleasing to the senses.

But this isn't New Age music. It's delicious vocals and poignant lyricism. It's torchy folk and contemplative soul. These are the diverse workings of Anandi's new album, Forever Days.

For this, her third album, Anandi has returned to the studio with producer/multi-instrumentalist Brad Craig (Fine Arts Militia w/ Chuck D., Nastyfacts), drummer Genji Siraisi (Groove Collective) and guitarist and co-writer Steve Mayone (Kris Delmhorst).

Her unique brand of well-crafted songs contains a sense of wisdom and poetry rarely encountered in today's pop music. On Forever Days, the title track reminds a good friend that growing up doesn't mean losing a sense of delight in the world; on "Always A Child" she speaks with gentle tenderness to a friend who has lost faith; "Fruit" praises a friend's lack of discrimination in their affections. Anandi has also ventured back to the soulfulness of the original Gloria Jones' version of "Tainted Love."

Finally, seeing the destruction of the twin towers with her own eyes, inspired the last track on Forever Days and aims at creating a healing mantra for those who have experienced trauma or hopelessness from that day.

Such snapshots make us recall what it might be like to see the world as a playground, where being perfectly human, scrapes and all, is never a burden, always an adventure. Forever Days engages the listener, inviting them to sing along, revealing new dimensions with every listen.

The bliss dog is barking.
Production is tight, the vocals are tight, and the songs are lovely too.

Anandi has reached "that" level as an artist ~ where vision and strength combine consistently.

It's torchy folk and contemplative soul. With a biting lyrical edge similar to Sheryl Crow but with a knack for subtlety and fluidity, her uniquely bred folk rock dances between Bonnie Raitt and Shawn Colvin only to take a head-first dive into funk. And with a resonant voice as meaty as hers, it's almost as if the music exists solely to feature her, taking its cues from her emotive but well-grounded sound. With a name that means "bliss" in Sanskrit, this album certainly does wow the senses with full-spectrum artistry.

Everyone should own this cd!
It’s always a delight to see a musician hit their artistic stride, and with Anandi’s third cd
Forever Days, she has certainly done that. Intelligent lyrics, brilliant arrangements, and lets
not forget Anandi’s voice, she is able to convey joy, yearning and despair without missing
a beat, truly something special. One always wants to compare one musician’s sound to
another, but with the jazz, blues, and funk that flows throughout this cd it is entirely,
uniquely Anandi. This is one of those CDs that will get heavy rotation on your changer.
While on one hand it can flow over you on a superficial level with great hooks and
melodies and keep your toes a tappin’, but sit down with it and really listen and it will take
you on a journey that you won’t soon forget. This is certainly the best cd I have heard in
the last year. Everyone should own this cd!!!!

Awesome Record!
Anandi keeps getting better with each release. I've had this album less than a day and have already listened to it three times. I love the vocals over just the bass and drums in "Don't Wait For Love" and then how the guitar builds back in before it ends. Beautiful. "The Machine" is a real rocker. The whole album has a very good blending of blues feelings with funky pop rocking. I'm very impressed with this record. Anandi and everybody involved did a great job. The band is great. Anandi might mean bliss, but she is beauty in every aspect of her performance. Rock on, Dig!

One of the top releases of 2003!
Now this is a great CD. Upbeat rockers, smooth ballads and bluesy tunes. Every song is excellent on this album but it's the whole CD that gels together to be one of the top releases of 2003! Fans of Sheryl Crow (Know Better), Jennifer Marks (Language Of Desire), Jonatha Brooke (Don't Wait For Love), Janis Joplin or Melissa Etheridge (Keep It That Way) will enjoy this CD. Full of great hooks and honest lyrics, Forever Days (both the song and the entire CD) should propel this artist to stardom. If this CD is not in my top 5 releases of 2003, I can't wait to hear those because this is one fine album.
