Album Notes
Care was taken to make this recording sound 'old school' - by which I mean designed to be listened to without distraction, to go on an emotional journey through the twists and turns of a varied musical landscape. Not many take the time to truly listen to music today. But I offer this recording for those valiant souls willing to experience music as a potential awakening of the spirit, and not just as a distraction.

Notes on the Pieces
"Equations of Beauty" (dedicated to Johannes Tonio Kreusch) arose from my passion for mathematics, each movement being inspired by a mathematical constant.
"h" stands for Planck's constant. I am fascinated with h for its representation of the smallest distance imaginable, where space and time both break down . . .
"e" is the base of the natural logarithm, 2.71828..., a transcendental number that is found in growth of all kinds.
π is familar to all, 3.141592..., the transcendental number that defines the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. Why the simplest of shapes should be defined by this number is a source of mystical inspiration to some.
"i" is an imaginary number, the square root of negative 1. With this number, we can rotate out of our reality into higher dimensions - mathematically speaking, of course, but deeply fascinating nonetheless.
∞, or infinity. While not technically a constant, it is a necessary concept for mathematics and good for the mind to contemplate from time to time, to break our hypnosis by the mundane.
"c" is the fastest thing in the universe, the speed of light. And its masurement always reveals the same speed, no matter how fast you may be moving too . . .

Thanks to all my patrons and Kickstarter supporters who made this project possible. Thanks to Andy Lemon and Tara Stewart for their video magic, Carlos Castro for his beautiful studio space and vibe, David Daily for his fine guitars and coming down for the recording, Erik Zobler for his wonderful ears and coffee during mixing.

Special thanks to Ryan Ayers, whose help and expertise was invaluable at every step in this process. And most of all, thank you to my wife Annie for her love, support and assistance.
