ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Garland Ruby Music is excited to announce the the release of SLEEPING IN THE VAN, new music from Andy Church.

Raised in the Southeast on barbecue and college ball, Andy Church combines heart, soul, and fine chops to create new music inspired by the innovative bands of the 60's and 70's.

SLEEPING IN THE VAN contains 9 original songs and a new remake of the James Taylor classic, "Shower the People You Love."

Mikey Mann has this to say:

"I get a lot of emails from players wanting me to rebuild their amps, and a lot of times they'll include a link to their site, their blog, or to some clips of tunes they recorded. Most of the time, the tunes are average.

Rarely, very rarely, I'll hear something that's just outstanding. This was one of those very rare times. This guy really blew me away. For you players that have been around for awhile, you know how sometimes the hair on your arm will stand up and you get goosebumps when you're listening to a great tune, or a great riff? This is the difference between just listening to a great tune and really connecting with and feeling the tune.

The goosebumps on my arm started when listening to his cover of 'Shower the People,' and were in full effect, along with arm hair standing straight up, when I listened to 'Imaginary Girl.' Killer tune, my personal favorite. This tune has Gold Record written all over it, IMHO.

Great songs, great arrangements, excellent playing, singing and recording, the whole enchilada is here. This guy's the real deal and he does it all.

He played ALL of the instruments on the recordings (except brass), handled the vocals, did the recording, mixing, and so on.

Check out this guy Andy Church, and let me know what you think of his tunes... and if the hair on your arm stands up too!

Mikey"

Tasty, mature pop
Great singing, tasty guitar playing, and crisp arrangements--this is a record that sounds great on the first spin and richly rewards repeated listens. Well worth it!
