Album Notes
Andy & Denise are acoustic singer/songwriters who feature well crafted songs, compelling harmonies, and Andy's intricate guitar playing which often adds a 'third voice' to their songs. They are happy to announce the release of two new CD's: "Covers" and Andy's solo acoustic instrumental CD "The Long Walk Home". These join their two previous releases "Go" and "Sunlight In Goodbye".

Andy & Denise are from the Philadelphia area and have been performing along the east coast for a number of years. They have played in coffeehouse series, house concerts, colleges and music festivals including The Minstrel Coffeehouse (NJ), Godfrey Daniel's (PA), 333 Coffeehouse (MD), Eddie's Attic (GA), The Point (PA), The Six String Cafe (NC), The Bluebird Cafe (TN), The Goodfolk Coffeehouse (CT), Moore Music in the House (MD), Delaware Friends of Folk Coffeehouse, the Brierfield Music Festival (AL), Delmarva Folk Festival (DE) and the Forksville Folk Festival (PA). Whatever the setting they are fun and engaging to watch!

Andy Fox cut his teeth on the Boston music scene, playing in a number bands while attending Berklee College of Music. Denise O'Brien moved to New York to pursue acting and has performed in numerous commercials, soaps and theater. She has also created a line of handmade items under the label D'Pholk Crafts.

Andy & Denise also run their own music recording studio called Gemini Squared Studios. Through their combined talents they are able to produce, record and mix music for other artists. Some of the projects they have produced are "Engine" by We're About 9, "God's Poet Now" by Erik Balkey, and "Another Tourist" by Eliot Bronson.

Andy Fox - vocals, acoustic guitar
Denise O'Brien - vocals, acoustic bass

"Denise has one of those voices that sounds like she is smiling as she sings. Together, their equally strong voices often cross gender-defining pitch boundaries; a pleasant change that not all duos can handle. Listeners comfortable with David Wilcox and Eddie From Ohio will make familiar guitar and vocal connections."

Andy & Denise are a duo in the acoustic pop/folk genre and I have to admit that their plain-Jane name didn't command much of my interest. No clever wordplay, nothing excruciatingly hip or obscure, just Andy & Denise. I guess I didn't expect much as their name didn't imply much, but like most of my first impressions, boy was I wrong. It's all here, folks; lush alt tunings, muscular strumming, funky rhythmns, finger-picking crisp as icicles smacked with a snow-shovel, great harmonies, a guy who plays guitar nose-to-nose with David Wilcox and a gal who sings with an effortless, sexy voice that reminds you of the first time you saw your girlfriend in a bikini. The opening song on their latest release, "Go", is a great 'take it to the highway' cruising tune; bouyant and peppy but not overbarring, it made me want to jump in my old Ford and head west on Highway 80. This CD is a great showcase for the range of their musical abilities both instrumental and lyrical. The songs cover a wide range of moods and subjects, from interspection and nostalgia, to downright moving. The song "Body on the Pier" is a hauntingly beautiful, though disturbing, song that really blindsided me and left me shaking my head at the power that a talented songwriter wields. I was pleasantly suprised at the depth and talent displayed in this CD and I know that the music of Andy & Denise will captivate anyone who gets the opportunity to hear it.
