Album Notes
African Cargoes is a song dedicated to the pioneers of British folk blues in the 1960s, in particular Bert Jansch, some of whose biographical details are included in the lyrics. The song has been previously recorded by The Details and is included in a jazz version on my Jazz Ballads album. In this largely acoustic arrangement, I have tried to stay close to a kind of early folk blues sound, with some allusions to songs of the time.

Electric guitar here by Ben Lee and bass by Tom Moore.
