ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hailing from Birmingham, Angry Itch are a three piece leviathan of aggression, angst, and just the right amount of self-deprecation. Currently on the front line of a re-invigorated and vibrant Midlands punk scene, the Itch boys have only been around for two years, but in that time (and with the help of their two delightfully low-fi EP’s, ‘Scratch It ‘til It Bleeds’ and the self-titled ‘Angry Itch’), they’ve managed to become one of the brightest prospects on the UK punk scene.

Having played with everyone from Drongos For Europe to Paranoid Visions; from Maid of Ace to Dirtbox Disco; from Wonk Unit to the English Dogs; over the past 2 years Angry Itch have tirelessly built up and solidified their burgeoning reputation, culminating in a barn-storming debut performance at the mighty Rebellion Festival in Blackpool last year, which was swiftly followed by the news that will return to Rebellion this year, opening the Sunday on the Pavillion Stage.

And now the boys have something new and shiny to show, in the form of their long-awaited debut album, ‘Champanzee’.

A healthy mix of raw power, attitude, tongue-in-cheek chant-a-longs and riffs as beefy as a field of cows, ‘Champanzee’ is the perfect cross-section of Angry Itch, a variety of styles and influences all rolled up into a big ball of punk. A labour of love that’s been two years in the making, Angry Itch are finally ready to set this monkey loose on the world, and sit back and watch the mayhem.
