Album Notes
Dynamic Singer Songwriter, Anita Brown, has a musical vibe that blends perfectly with the style that the 'Pied Piper', R. Kelly is bringing back! Perfect timing and mastery of that tempo and sound. Anita's songs will knock you over with their proverbial feathers. From the stripped-back slow bluesy soul of "This Love", to the uplifting, power of "Rest of the Day". These songs are so tightly produced and performed, some having a fusion of different genres-yes even a little country vibe at times. This amazing vocalist's writing skills promise to deliver thought provoking lyrics that are perfect for goose bump time!! Anita has performed at the Famous Broken Spoke in Austin Texas, at SXSW, and has appeared on the television show "Songwriters Across Texas" on the CW Austin.

Anita began singing at a very young age, as music was a constant and overwhelming presence in her life. She was highly influenced by her mother, whose singing voice is a cross between Crystal Gayle and Etta James with scats like Ella Fitzgerald. Her father, had a smooth low, raspy crooner's voice and the ability to play the guitar by ear. He had a collection of all the oldies and the latest hits that Anita played repeatedly, studying voice patterns, tones and her favorite-'background harmony'. Because her father was in the military, Anita traveled through the United States and parts of Europe, which lead to interest in all people, cultures, and different styles of music. She sang in choirs and bands but was never more fulfilled until she began to record her own songs. Once she reached Austin Texas she contacted Tim Dolbear, of Eclectica Studios (www.eclecticarecordings.com) to arrange and produce her songs. The two worked so well together that her CD "Waiting on Paradise" was conceived. Her cousin, Tai Martin, aka Taxxi Tai, is featured on the title song, Waiting On Paradise where he unleashes his impeccable artistic flow. Anita now resides in the Austin area and is enjoying a wonderful musical journey recording the songs that she has been writing for years.
