Album Notes
The word "Raga" in Indian classical music means "Emotion". Indian music is raga-based, and is inseparable from emotion. A raga is a framework of notes, within which is rendered a melody. The use of specific notes in a raga, the style of their emphasis and their flat or sharp versions are the factors creating the emotional experience. The subtle microtones of a raga embody the vibrations pulsating in nature. Ragas are also believed to relate to seasons and the time of the day. Experiencing raga music therefore, can be a beautiful way of achieving harmony with nature.

This Panorama of ragas presents eight renderings based on eight different ragas. These are pure classical songs, each based on a 16-beat cycle. They are presented in a contemporary style of Fusion, where traditional Indian vocal and instrumental music is blended with musical elements from the West. The idea is to introduce the rejuvenating impact and the supreme power of Indian music to wider global audiences with a hope that this Panorama will bring much lasting joy to the listeners!
