Album Notes
Baltimore Yoga Village Founder and Director, Anjali Sunita instructs the 200 hour Jivan Yoga Teacher Training and co-teaches the 300 hour course. She has been studying yoga philosophy, North Indian classical chanting, deep breathing techniques, postures, and meditation ceaselessly for the past 16 years and has taught in India, Peru, Canada, and the United States in ashrams, private and public schools, embassies, yoga studios, retreat centers, and private homes since 2005. She is certified in traditional yoga at the advanced level through the Sivananda Organization, AcroYoga, in prenatal yoga and children’s yoga and continues studies through numerous programs held at her home studio. She promotes programs which offer opportunities for healing and community-building in Baltimore through collaborations with local community centers, farms/CSAs, and local small businesses who promote health in the city. She is deeply devoted to her teacher of Ayurveda, Dr. Vasant Lad, with whom she studies at the Ayurvedic Institute as well as her teacher of hindustani music, Guruji Hasu Patel.

Anjali says "Pranayama is a bridge between body, mind, and soul. It is found in yoga, ayurveda, and music. Breath awareness is the simplest door into moment to moment meditation. The classical pranayama practices have been powerful medicine in my life, which bring me each day to a state of health and happiness. Basic pranayama can make miracles for health and wellbeing, while breath retention teaches overcoming fear of death, anxiety, and mental chatter. Pranayama creates a clear and open voice for anyone who seeks purer self expression. There is nothing like pranayama. With patience and a self loving approach, these practices will open up to you and can change everything! Nothing is impossible! You can expand beyond your wildest expectations."
