ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Anka Kusu offers a unique and refreshing blend of music that has its roots in Israel, Turkey, Armenia, Egypt, The Balkans, Greece, Syria, and other points in the Middle East, all presented with just a touch of an American edge. Whatever you choose to label their style, the end result is powerful and highly enjoyable, and just might have come from long ago and far away.

This album combines the talents of band members Jack Lowry who has a love of and a talent for world music that is evident in every note he plays or sings, Thomas Berger who's got a clean and creative approach to the use of traditional rhythms and a quiet vocal style and Chuck Eckert who's joyful riq playing helps bind it all together, along with guest artist Rodney Azagra who's skill with both vocals and double bass were a delightful addition.
