ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
While on a photographic assignment in Madagascar, I had the occasion to meet a local school teacher who was writing/teaching music about conservation and ecology. Gabriel, the teacher/choir director, told me about a small girls choir (ages 10-14) that he had put together as well. I was truly touched by this man and his efforts to teach and touch the lives of these children through song. Most of their songs are written in English, which hints at another of Gabriel's goals; teaching English to the villagers.

Gabriel asked if I could help "share his music with the world." I agreed to record their music and do what I could with the limited equipment that I had. The proceeds will go back to help Gabriel continue teaching; the local school can't afford to pay him for the teaching he is doing - by candle light, I might add. So, I hope to help him with this effort. Even modest sales will be a tremendous help for his cause.
