Album Notes
One of America's most highly regarded saxophonists, Anna Marie Wytko, who is Associate Professor of Music at Kansas State University, has been described as "Incredible...I was riveted" (John Mackey, composer), and as "A supremely gifted musician and brilliant young educator" (Libby Larsen, composer). Having recently performed as concerto soloist in Carnegie Hall (New York International Music Festival), she has also appeared as guest artist and Guest Professor in Poland, France, Belgium, Germany, Scotland, England, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and throughout the United States. Her most recent CD/Digital Download release, self titled "Anna Marie Wytko, Saxophonist," includes the music of Jindrich Feld, Craig Weston, Anthony Girard, Sean Heim, and Philippe Gantchoula (arr. A. M. Wytko). As comfortable with contemporary styles as well as traditional repertoire, Anna Marie has also recorded the music of such composers as Edison Denisov, Erik Satie, and esteemed pianist-composer Roger Boutry, who has lauded her "...brilliant techniques, sensitivity of sonority, exceptional color and very vivid contrasts."
