Album Notes
Big Words

A beautiful recording of eight songs with raw and truthful lyrics, strong melodies, unique arrangements and killer grooves.

Big Words is Anne Loree's latest and most stylized CD to date. Self produced and self arranged, it marks a departure for Anne as an innovative recording artist. Using subtle computerized loops and processing, combined with soulful and evocative musician performances she has achieved a unique sound unlike any other than her own.

As guest performers, Calgary Violin and Violist Jonathan Lewis adds uplifting strings to the beautiful Different Light and a little classical pop- punch to the fun rockin' Oxymoron. Folk Rocker Kris Demeanor adds his usual character harmony vocals with Anne on the cool Relapse and Timing is Everything, whereas songstress Natasha Platt weaves her souring high vocals throughout, most evident on the lovely Makeover. And of course there is the always present, cool and melodic bass of Diane Kooch. Other musicians who appear are Gary Bird, Ron Casat, Clea Roddick and Steve Pineo with mixing contribution by Gary Bird and mastering by Dave Horrocks. Additional outside track, the rootsy Ormstown, was recorded by Danny Patton.
