Living in the Driveway: Stories of Finding Our Place

Enjoy a funny, moving collection of original stories for adults from humorist and master storyteller Anne Rutherford. Great for listening on your own, in your car, or gathering round the CD player with family and friends. (Warning: listening to Anne’s stories can lead to the irresistible impulse to tell your own!)

Enjoy these five lively, moving stories on Anne’s Living in the Driveway CD:

Larry and the Rabbi - Two grumpy homeowners find unexpected bliss.

The Return of Uncle Chick - Doing the wrong thing for the right reason may heal a family rift. (Fictional Story)

Under the Bridge - Ever hear the troll’s side of the story? (Skewed Fairytale)

I Need to Get Out - A talking frog and deflating salmon reveal a true storyteller.

The Blue Remove - An old woman claims a place in the horizon of her dreams.
(Fictional monologue)

Since 1999, Anne Rutherford has been telling stories professionally to all kinds of audiences in all kinds of places, including inside collapsing tents and on stages shared by biting ants. Her specialties are original tales, real-life anecdotes, and bringing characters from vintage and world folktales to life through her training in music and improvisational theater.

In 2006 the City of Portland commissioned Anne to create a CD of stories and songs about local urban migratory birds, The Great Pacific Flyway. Released in November 2007, Living in the Driveway is her latest CD of original stories for adults. She is currently recording her third CD, The Habit of Joy, another captivating set of her original tales for adults, scheduled for 2008 release.
