Album Notes
Annie & Mac are from Front Royal, Virginia, at the northern end of the Shenandoah Valley and have been performing together since 2000 at parties, festivals, weddings, farm markets and other events. In late 2008 they found a new family of kindred spirits on YouTube and are amazed every day at how much this old time music is appreciated around the world. Annie & Mac connect with performers and listeners alike for whom this music has real meaning. The old time songs tell stories of everyday joys and struggles, while the breakdowns and reels propel listeners to rhythms and dance that can go on and on with fun and laughter. The links that connect to old time music are found in many places past and present, and Annie & Mac always search for the spirit that will keep it alive in the future.

Annie & Mac perform songs from what you might call deep catalog old time music with all the folk elements you've been looking for--love, humor, faith and hope--with banjo, guitar, harmonica and harmony duets. Influenced by Uncle Dave Macon, the Bailes Brothers, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Jimmy Driftwood, Grandpa Jones and others, Mac's clawhammer and bluegrass banjo and harmonica, and Annie's rhythm guitar are well steeped in the old time traditions. Comments from the audience usually include "toe-tapping, joyful, beautiful harmonies, sincere, and fun."
