Album Notes
In the summer of 2012, I was fortunate to meet Danny Gottlieb (drums) and his wife Beth (percussion) when they moved to the Nashville area. So I set up a session with my friends Roy Vogt (bass) and Billy Contreras (violin), and the Anthony Belfiglio Quintet was born...I'm still working on a hipper name for the band, and I welcome your suggestions! The talents of these musicians is unbelievable, and I am so fortunate to work with them.

This recording is ripe with beautiful moments as we discover our collective sound. One common thread is our friend Ron Miller who taught each of us (except Beth) for a time at the University of Miami. Our version of "The Babes of Cancun" by Miller is the closing track on the CD. You will also find compositions by Wayne Shorter, David Torres, and Kahn & Brown, as well as three of my originals and a free improvisation. Special guests Jeff Kirk (Soprano sax) and Jonathan Wires (bass) are also featured on a tune each.

Thanks for listening!

TN Jazz Fan

Great eclectic Jazz from an unexpected place!
Mention Nashville and you don't think of Jazz, let alone a project with a former Pat Metheny and John McLaughlin drummer, a scorching electric violinist, tasteful percussionist and dynamic bass duo. Anthony has brought all of the elements together and added Nashville Jazz Icon Jeff Kirk on saxophone as the final touch on a tune by legendary Jazz Composer Ron Miller (he taught Pat Metheny and Bruce Hornsby both a bit about writing music if that gives you a hint). I absolutely enjoyed this CD and recommend it to anyone who wishes to enjoy a varied, dynamic and musical journey from an unexpected Jazz City-Nashville, TN!
