NOTES FROM THE RUNTIME:

IMAGINTATION:
If you beat a player at their own game, they’ll fall for you. Well. It doesn’t really work that way, but here’s to wishful thinking.

LOOKING AT YOU:
Like how most song concepts start, there was this guy at the time that I thought liked me. I had never considered him for myself, but started falling for him very quickly. Every time our eyes met he had this coaxing smile that lured me in. It wasn’t until a few months later, when he started seeing one of my best friends, that I realized I had unintentionally become collateral damage. In the time before I found out, I wrote this song for him. I was inspired by Jeff Buckley’s writing style to try and paint a love story with imagery.

(WHEN THE RAIN FALLS) TONIGHT:
I remember sitting down at the piano one day determined to write a dance song like the ones that inspired me. I tried to imagine how Michael Jackson or Lionel Richie would write a song. One hour later, this is what I had. My tribute to my great inspirations.
