Blue Cheer is alive and has gone....APE!
Blue Cheer has been reincarnated and gone APE! This cd just blew me away in that apparently it was recorded in 1995, yet released 5 years later. The power is eerily similar to the atomic onslaughts of Blue Cheer, MC5 and some of the late 60's Detroit power bands, yet added psychedelic touches create a true 60's expanded head trip. Listening with headphones is highly recommended. I can't believe these guys weren't signed by a major label, at least judging by this cd. I actually picked this as my 3rd cd just to get the $5 deal and its turned out to be my favorite. I love the way the music will get into a heavy groove, then shift gears and foray into different musical territory. Good, hard, rock riffs, pounding rhythms and assorted guitar squallings and aural experimentations make this cd easily the best I've ever purchased for only $5.
