Album Notes
"Bite Your Tongue, Read My Lips" is the debut release of Ventura, CA based rock band "Apparition Coast." This collection of tunes is meant to deconstruct the concept of classification into a single genre. We aim to take the viewers on a personal journey through themselves using subject matters we find universally relatable, based on events that have occurred in our personal lives. With that experience you will be offered thought provoking lyrics and tunes that will stay with you for the rest of the day.

The album's opening "My Serenade" is an upbeat but emotionally heavy pop-punk smasher that meditates on the angst of a decaying relationship, while "Hard to Breathe" calls to mind the every day academic struggles of students as they cope with anxiety and stress along with its torturous effects on the human body.

"Relentless" serves as a change of pace from the previous two major key-punk rock- summer jams and exists as a bridge between the first two songs and the last, which will begin the EPs slower decent in to the darker side of our somewhat bi-polar sound that we associate ourselves with. The lyrical content of this track- which shows some clear and welcomed influence from "The Silversun Pickups" as well as "Muse" -deals with the healthy and wonderful insanity of artists; the same driving force that drives their determination to be the best, as well as the determination that drove us in the band to put our music out for the world to see and invites all artists to embrace that side of themselves.

The last two tracks of the EP serve as the darkest of the bunch with the Edgar Allan Poe inspired "Raven" which begins as a mournful love ballad, before exploding into a more rage-induced rock opera. Finally "Drowning" is what we feel to be our most accomplished song to date with the eerie opening guitar riff to the "Queen" inspired vocal harmonies of the chorus, make "Drowning" an epic and emotionally heavy conclusion to the journey of "Bite Your Tongue, Read My Lips."
