Coen 'Are MC' Grooten (1970) is rappin’ since 1985. Are MC stands for hip hop with a 'old school taste' and his music is related to 70's funk. He's playing with bands like: Seven Eleven, Dope Posse, Family Jewels, U-Gene & Oh Jay with friends, Hans Dulfer & handieMan and as a solo recordingartist together with DJ Rachi (DMC Champion). Are MC was touring with his band Seven Eleven through Europe in clubs and large festivals. One of his highlights were performing with Gary 'Mudbone' Cooper (Bootsy Collins, Dave Stewart) and Dawn Silva (George Clinton, Brides of Funkenstein) and recording with James Brown's trombone player Fred Wesley, Menace and the Dutch MC Brainpower.
