ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The will to compose has always existed between the members of ARMAHDA. They were influenced by heavy metal bands that addressed issues of their countries of origin. ARMAHDA, however, felt the need to write about topics of their own country: episodes in the history of Brazil that should not be forgotten.
The idea took more concrete shape in 2011 when Maurício Guimarães brought together some ideas and came into contact with Renato Domingos. From there, they began to compose new themes and to record old ideas.
The priorities of the band have always been the music’s themes and historical context, with careful elaboration of the songs. The songs addressed several points on the timeline of Brazil, with support of universities, the army, witnesses of historical events and the National Library.
Armahda relied on the partnership of a great friend, Rafael Zeferino, sound engineer and owner of AudioFusion Studio, where the album was recorded, mixed and mastered.
A participation that stands out was of Silvio Navas, a great Brazilian voice actor who is known in Brazil for dubbing characters like Mun-ha, Darth Vader, Smurfs, etc. He dubs the ex-president Floriano Peixoto in the song called Armahda. Another special participation was of the voice coach Cintia Scola in the choir of the song named Uiara. Finally, our great friend Edson Xavier (No Class Motorhead Cover) recorded the bass in Canudos.
In September 2013, a teaser and some lyric-videos, containing historical explanation of the songs, were released on ARMAHDA’s youtube channel. The CD was released in December of the same year.
The band had great response from the Brazilian heavy metal media, being among the best albums released in Brazil in 2013 and among the best bands in the country.
