Album Notes
While attending Berklee College of Music from 2006-2009, Art developed an interest in the 6-horn ensemble as a vehicle for musical expression. The perfect balance between large and small, this ensemble allows for big band characteristics to be infused with a small group feel. The specific instrumentation is two trumpets, alto/soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, trombone, baritone saxophone, guitar, piano, acoustic bass and drum set.

At Berklee, there is a 6-horn ensemble called the "Rainbow Band All-Stars" led by legendary jazz composer, arranger and trombonist Phil Wilson (former member of Buddy Rich Big Band.) This particular group was much of the inspiration behind Inward, as Art composed and arranged heavily for the band during his years at Berklee.

A quote from Phil reads, "In forty three years of coaching wonderful talents for all over the world, Arthur Felluca places in the very top fifth percentile."

Highlights from Art's time at Berklee include receiving both the Herb Pomeroy Award and the Wayne Shorter Award for achievement in jazz composition. Art also played two of the school's showcase ensembles: the Rainbow Band, led by Phil Wilson, and the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra, led by Greg Hopkins. In performing with these ensembles, Art shared the stage with such jazz legends as McCoy Tyner, Benny Golson, Hal Galper, and Joe Lovano.

Currently Art is finishing a Master of Music in Jazz Composition at New England Conservatory, where his teachers include Miguel Zenón, Jerry Bergonzi, Ken Schaphorst and Frank Carlberg.
