How Did The Schlosser-Kammer Project Come Together by Art Paul Schlosser 02/23/16

Well I think if there was no Dave Grey that maybe I wouldn’t have ever met Chris Kammer and so maybe this CD would have never come about. Dave Gray used always come up to me on State street or the square give me a $5 and have me perform My Cat Was Taking a Bath. Chris met Dave Gray when he opened for the Temptations at the civic center and he knew he wanted him to host his local TV show called Hot Tonight. Well After Dave Gray was doing he saw me one time and introduced Chris to me and had Chris film me singing My Cat Was Taking A Bath for Hot Tonight and Chris Instantly became a fan of mine.Well I didn’t really remember him but I started to get to know him a little when I was collecting songs for my self tribute CD. I suggested he do I Like My Mother and I really like his version of it. But he really impressed me when we had the release party for the CD. Chris is a great performer and he has a very impressive performance with his huge tooth brush so I after I saw him perform I thought he would be great to do some shows with. So after we perform here there a couple times and Chris ran for President some time later after a show Chris said he wanted to do a CD with me and I was kind of interested.I thought maybe he would just perform with me or sing with me but what he wanted to do was write the songs with me and perform them together. So I thought it over and I guess it sounded interesting so I wanted to try it. Well one day he said he was really serious and we should meet and we did and was talking about song ideas and before you know it we were writing I Wanna BU4A Day which was inspired by the fact that Chris admires the courage I have to play on the street. Most of the songs we started to write about 2 years ago and had them jotted down in a notebook which maybe we’ll use sometime later again because there are still some good ideas in there that we didn’t get to. Most of the songs we would just come up with a title or idea for a song and then we would talk about lyrics for it and then I would just come up with some chords that I thought would go with it.So after a couple of months we had a a couple songs and decided to record them in a studio. Originally we were only going to record 4 but came up with 6 because we came up with 2 extra ideas in the studio. But then we didn’t write mush more except we tried to wine this contest and are song Tuesday the not quite finished version was on a VH1 website’s front apge for a day. Then Chris became very busy we didn’t do much except that year I sang Christmas Carols with him in front of Walgreens. But we did perform We Don’t Like Coffee at Coffee house and felt it was successful so I told Chris all we need is 6 more songs and then we can put out a CD. so eventually Chris got motivated again (a year or so later) and we look at our notebook and discovered we had some interesting material there so we started working on 6 more songs with more harmony and then we recorded and we came up with a really nice CD. sser-Kammer Project Come Together by Art Paul Schlosser 02/23/16
