Album Notes
A singer/songwriter rooted in the heart of North Carolina, Ashley Jo Farmer has a voice that is smooth and strong, with rich undertones that are soothing and comfortable. She has always been a fan of music, and pulls inspiration from many well-known singer/songwriters including the likes of Karen Carpenter, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Beth Wood, and the Indigo Girls. Farmer is currently best known for her work as a touring background vocalist for the Billy Jonas Band. She was introduced to Jonas, a world-renowned Folk artist, in 2005. He immediately invited her to become a permanent fixture in his band, and she began touring with him. In the last five years she has traveled with the Billy Jonas Band across the United States playing at many notable venues, and along the way rubbing shoulders with a few of the country’s finest musicians. Easter of 2010, the Billy Jonas Band was invited to play at the White House Easter Egg Roll where Ashley Jo had the privilege of meeting and taking a photo with First Lady Michelle Obama as well as many other celebrities.
Still contracting vocal work through Hit Music Studios and touring with Billy Jonas at the same time, these days Ashley Jo has her sights set on a more personal project. With her own new release Wise Up House Love, she is breaking down the barriers between genre's and, at the same time, making a stand for marriage equality with her song "I'd Marry You" - a love story that exposes the inequality in our current laws regarding the rights of LGBTQ citizens of the United States.
