ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Manuel Engel launched a project in 2010 to produce an album working with different concepts such as free improvised music based on rock, african, noise, minimal elements. After two years of work in the studio Aspirin can fall back on over 18 instrumental tracks. In 2012 Aspirin appears with an intro on 'Dream' - Nick Porsche's album "Blood" (Two Gentlemen). End of 2012, Ana Igluka (FR) recorded her vocals and lyrics on 4 songs. Aspirin is continues looking for singers and poets - to integrate the idea of different music scenes in Europe. Promoting new forms of collaboration among diverse artists has been a major factor since the launch of this project.

Ana Igluka: “I was contacted by a strange fellow Swiss man, the 'improviser musician' intrigued me and told me that he has discovered me while vacationing Le Croisic, France. Briefly, after listening to his improvised music with three other companions, I fell in love with their wild explorations and improvisations – I then worked on 4 songs: voice, vocalization, sound effects and 4 texts that I kept warm! After sending these 4 tracks, the thunderbolt burst on the other side of the Alps!”

Aspirin is the present manifestation of a 3 year collaboration between musicians from Biel/Bienne, Switzerland and Ana Igluka from Nantes, France. An important component is the use of rock, african and noise elements as an integral part of the groups concept and sound.
The lyrics turn out to be a trip into a wonderland with ghastly figures and magical animals. A voyage to the borders of a world without rules and borders.
