Album Notes
"Athena Under Attack" is an edgy new rock opera that takes place on 9/11 as Christina, Sam and Athena meet on a rooftop in Queens and witness, in chaos and shock, the events of the day. Wildly opposing psycho-political reactions are juxtaposed as Athena relives childhood trauma and Sam rapes his girlfriend Christina in a fit of post-traumatic patriotic fervor. Athena and Christina are left feeling violently raw and emotionally broken. This innovative new musical explores opposing emotional reactions and demonstrates the necessity for peace.

Athena Under Attack merits attention for its musical quality and forceful presentation...Reich's own mezzo/alto is an exceptional instrument that in this work strikes the perfect balance of wild energy and controlled power.

Review of September 12th Performance at New Moon Coffeehouse in Oshkosh, WI
From the moment she opened her mouth and let loose a torrent of virtuoso
vocalisation, I knew that this woman could bring the stuff. All of us have
an idea in our mind of what we would like to do musically, but few of us
have the fearlessness to open up our soul and throw it out there. Athena
does this, and it is a good thing to experience, if you desire to
comprehend what it means to make music.

Andrea Warnick

Powerful Beyond Measure!
Athena's voice in "Athena Under Attack" is powerful beyond measure, as is her message. All three artists are incredibly gifted and have done an excellent job of combining talent and truth.
